What were the main reasons some settlements were not successful? Rank these reasons in order of importance for your colony. How would you improve upon the methods used by the original settlers of your colony? If you were a Native American at the time, how would you have responded to the incursion of foreign settlers? Which European settlement cooperated best with the native population of its region? Express your opinion on European colonization in the Americas. Consider: Was it inevitable? Was it fair? Why does one European country seek to take over or dominate another? |
